Los Torreznos present their performance ‘El Arte’ at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (MUAC) on Sunday 25 May at 12:00h.
This presentation is in collaboration with Ficciones. Narratividad en el arte contemporáneo, a group exhibition held at the Centro Cultural de España en México.
This performance explores with humour and irony what it means to make art today. Through simple gestures and verbal repetitions, the artists question the established discourses of contemporary art, stripping them of solemnity. The work is a scenic reflection on language, the body and time as critical tools. Far from offering answers, it proposes questions accessible to the general public, by disarming the institutional logics of art through proximity and play. It is an invitation to think of art as a shared experience rather than as an object or specialised knowledge.
