Opening Borrowed Light.  November 3, Tuesday, 5pm, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, San Fernando. Until January 10, 2016.

The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, San Fernando presents Borrowed Light, various works placed in dialogue with specific works from the collection, juxtaposing past and present, reflecting on cultural mixing and the resultant mestizaje, with references to a site specific project that began in Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City and will later travel to Malta. The experts involved in this international project are: Francisco Calvo Serraller, John Ravenal (Director and curator of the Art Museum of Virginia), Pedro Alonzo (Curator of The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, USA), Michael Bock (Independent curator), Maria Eugenia Rabadán (PhD in Art History and academic of the University of Guanajuato, Mexico) and Sandra Cerisola (independent curator in Mexico and the United States).
