Concha Jerez: Museum Exhibitions
May 9, 2026
Conceptual artist Concha Jerez, National Prize for Plastic Arts and Velázquez Prize for Plastic Arts laureate, among others, is featured in three museum exhibitions showcasing works from their collections.
The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS) in Madrid reopened its fourth floor on February 18th, with the permanent exhibition “Collection. Contemporary Art: 1975–Present,” which features her historic work Seguimiento de una noticia (1977).
Meanwhile, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castile and León (MUSAC) opened the temporary exhibition “Is There No Place Like Home? The MUSAC Collection” on February 28th. The exhibition, which explores the concept of home as a multifaceted and unstable reality, presents works from the museum’s collection, including A la búsqueda del oasis Ítaca (En memoria de + 98 inmigrantes muertos) (2014). The exhibition will be open until February 7th, 2027.
Soon, the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) will open “La Colección”, a reinterpretation of the IVAM’s collections, which includes works by Concha Jerez. The exhibition will be on permanent display in Galleries 4 and 5 of the museum.
In addition, on May 27, Concha Jerez will participate in the TRANS-FORMANCE festival in Murcia, where she will present a performance as part of the event’s program dedicated to action art and contemporary performance.
Finally, the Esteban Vicente Museum of Contemporary Art in Segovia will host a solo exhibition by the artist this coming October, featuring works from different periods, formats, and concepts. More information about this exhibition will be announced shortly.
The simultaneous presence of her work in these institutions reaffirms the fundamental place Concha Jerez occupies in the Spanish contemporary art scene.
