José Iges: Honored at the Cineteca of Matadero Madrid
May 5, 2026
Sound artist José Iges will be honored at the Cineteca in Matadero Madrid on May 6 at 7:00 p.m.
The event is part of the series of listening and discussion sessions titled “Stories of Noise: Toward a Heard History of Experimental Music in Spain,” curated by Miguel Álvarez-Fernández. This is the 31st episode of the series, titled “José Iges, 75 Years (Undisciplined Music).”
The tribute aims to recognize Iges’s influence on the history of experimental music and sound art in Spain over the past fifty years. This listening session will celebrate his work as an artist, his contributions to curation and radio production, and, more broadly, his life.
