Carmen Calvo at Niemeyer Center

October 26, 2026

Artist Carmen Calvo is presenting a solo exhibition at the Niemeyer Center in Avilés.

The exhibition, Platos giratorios, curated by Ana Berruguete and produced by La Fábrica, brings together works that reflect the experimental nature and diversity of artistic languages that define Calvo’s artistic universe. Through altered photographs, objects, landscapes, and clay pieces, the artist addresses issues such as alienation, memory, and rigid social conventions, with a special focus on childhood and the status of women in traditional Spain.

The opening will take place on October 29 at 6:00 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through February 14, 2027.
