Spanish galleries fight for a Cultural VAT
February 2, 2026
Faced with paralysis and a lack of response from the government, Spanish art galleries will close their doors from 2nd to 7th February, thus ceasing an activity that we defend as essential for society: free and constant access to artistic creation.
For one week, we will cease to be free cultural spaces open to all citizens, as a form of protest and a wake-up call.
We look forward to seeing you from the 10th onwards, when the galleries will reopen to continue defending their role as places of encounter with culture, sharing our spaces with all of you.
