January 29, 2026
The exhibition ‘El gesto y lo invisible’ (The Gesture and the Invisible), featuring the artist Marcelo Brodsky, opens at Museo Tamayo, in Mexico City.
Curated by Abril Zales, the exhibition explores the power of individual action as a driving force that accompanies and sustains the will of collective movement. It brings together thirteen international artists whose works reflect on the body, gesture and action.
The exhibition will feature Brodsky's works: ‘Beijing, 1968’, ‘New York, 1968’, ‘London, 1968’, ‘Tucumán, 1968’, ‘Amsterdam, 1967’, ‘Athens, 1968’, ‘Brussels, 1968’, ‘Montevideo, 1968’, ‘Washington, 1968’, ‘San Francisco, 1968’, ‘Rio de Janeiro, Passeata dos cem mil 1, 1968’, ‘Melbourne, 1968,’ and ‘Rome, 1968,’ belonging to the series ‘El fuego de las ideas’ (The Fire of Ideas), in which the artist delves, through manipulated photographs, into mythical protests that took place around the world in connection with the social movements of 1968.
The exhibition will open on February 5th at the Tamayo Museum (Av. P.º de la Reforma 51, Polanco, Bosque de Chapultepec I Secc, Miguel Hidalgo, 11580 Mexico City) and will run until July 26th.
