Retrospective of Eloísa Sanz in Segovia

April 28, 2026

The “schizophrenic” art of painter Eloísa Sanz will be presented in the exhibition Des/pliegues en pintura (Unfolds in Painting), curated by Rocío de la Villa, which opens on April 30th at 8 pm and will remain open until July 5, 2026.

Housed in Palacio Quintanar, a center for innovation and development in design and culture in Segovia, the exhibition brings together the main series that characterize the artist's career. Since the 1980s, she has broken with the single-plane format, extending her painting to screens, chairs, patterns, and intersections of planes.

Currently, Eloísa Sanz has focused on gardens of memory and inhabited gardens, painted and constructed with organic materials, within the framework of the same concept: to propose transgressions against painting as a window (both exterior and interior), altering its supports, formats, and techniques.
